The book is about a young girl who loves reading and regularly pays her visit to a bookstore. She finds there is an old man who also visits the bookstore on regular basis. The old man always reads the same book about war and he is often caught crying over the book. Around Christmas time, he finds the book is missing. It turns out to be a Christmas present for him from the bookstore. The story has a very warm ending! 

Questions that can be discussed with your children: 

• Why he didn't buy the book in the first place? 
• Which scene of the book has stuck with you the most?
•  If you got the chance to ask the author of the book one question, what question it would be? 

这是一个关于一个小女孩和一个老爷爷在书店看书的故事。这本书里有很多悬念，比如为什么老先生只看关于战争的书？他是否有亲人在那场战役中失去了生命？为什么他不买下这本书？
